Three stories, three lives, three descents: an intimate and poetic journey in search of identity. "The Descent" tells the daily lives of three people who seem to have nothing in common: from the chaotic and baroque atmospheres of Roman cinema industry, to the repopulated Tuscan hills of Brunello, looking for balance between tradition and luxury, to the quiet life of the Friulian plains, where new generations work to heal 60 years old wounds. Every Easter, the three protagonists embark on a picaresque journey to reunite in the small mountain community of Erto, in the Friulian Dolomites, to reenact the crucifixion of Christ, honoring a vow dating back to the 1600s.
